Market Research

I follow a few other great blogs by thrifty fashionistas, most of who are in the US. One thing I have noticed is that they are posting the most amazing deals from Goodwill; dresses for under $5, tops for $1.50 and skirts for under $3.

So last week after working just half a day I thought I would scoot over the border and check out the deals for myself. Audrey (my yellow Mini Cooper S) and I took a beautiful drive down to Bellis Fair in Washington State, in the sunshine, to visit the Goodwill thrift store and Plato’s Closet consignment, all in the name of market research (well that’s what I told Mark anyway).

Although I did not find these amazing deals others were blogging about at the Goodwill, (I think they must be going on special promotional days), I did find some great pieces at Plato’s Closet, although it took some serious rummaging to find them.

Here’s what I grabbed!

This gorgeous pleated, black & white, polka dot skirt, (that I am actually wearing again today!) $4

Outfit - $54.99
Top - $40 Consignment
Belt - $0.99 Thrift
Skirt - $4 Consignment
Shoes - $10 Sirens

This cute "love" & lace sweatshirt top, that I excited to wear camping this summer! $5

Outfit - $25
Top - $5 Consignment
Jessica Simpson Jeans - $10 Consignment

And finally, this awesome white & navy, printed dress/coverup that reminds me of a Ming Vase.. $8

Outfit - $18/$18.99
Dress - $8 Consignment
Belt - $0.99 Thrift
Shoes - $10 Sirens

In conclusion (remember this was market research), although I enjoyed my visit and got some great pieces, I feel I can find just as good of a deal on my doorstep and will continue to shop closer to home!

These are some great finds, although I usually thrift at GW Boutique, I definitely need to go to Plato's Closet. As per your request, I am attaching the Goodwill Locator App to your link. Have a great weekend!
